Galway events in August 2011

Date: 15th - 21th August Connemara Pony Show, Clifden, Co Galway.

Premier show for Connemara Ponies in Ireland for breeders and owners from home and overseas.

Date: 13th August The Connemara 100

The Connemara 100 mile endurance run with 30 hour limit takes place on 13th August 2011. The course is simply fabulous, taking participants from Clifden through Letterfrack, Leitirgeish, the Inagh alley, Maam Cross, Leenane, Inagh Valley again, then on to Roundstone, Ballyconeely and back to Clfden to complete 100 miles.

Date: 15th - 21st August Roundstone Summer Festival

A weekend where people can come and sample the beauty of the village of Roundstone and the warmth and friendliness of its inhabitants.

Date: 18th - 21st August Gaelforce West and Get Out There Adventure Festival

Gaelforce West is the largest one day adventure race of its kind in the world. The 2011 event takes place on Saturday August 20th. It is a multi-sport adventure race involving cycling, running, hiking and kayaking. The course of approximately 67km stretches from the stunning Glassilaun beach to Westport. En route there are some significant obstacles to cross, including Killary Harbour and the famous holy mountain of Croagh Patrick. The event is designed for solo competitors, but you can run it with a buddy or training partner.

Date: 19th - 22nd August Galway Pride Festival

This year's festival promises to bring excitement, color and glamorous entertainment to the city! This year even greater numbers are expected at the parade, to party and celebrate the night away! So be sure to come along to this fantastic event, and see for yourself the colorful and lively Galway Gay Pride!

Date: 28th – 30th August Galway Races Autumn Meeting

Adrenalin-pumping action, heart-stopping finishes and breath-taking fashion; you are at the Galway Races. Situated on the outskirts of Galway city, in the West of Ireland, the Galway Race Festivals are world renowned.
